- i wanted to use my zip disk as a hard drive back up disk
- but in its MS-DOS format it screws up all my filenames, so i
- endeavoured to format it to FFS or the like (going to shove it in
- an old A2000 thats still under KS1.2 so it might only like OFS)
-
- however, everything crapped up on me:
-
- Under HiSoft Tools
- it reads:
- "Error 45 3/49 While Accessing Zip Unit 6"
- and stops.
-
- Under Normal WB:
- "Couldnt Format Cylinder 0"
- and stops.
-
- Under Squirrel ToolBox:
- "Error 20 on Write"
- and stops.
-
- Under any circumstances it will refuse a "Quick Format" too.
-
- Mo-Miga Disk Tools refuses to Format too, and neither will the
- Zip-specific software (that came along side Mo-Miga) work at all.
-
- so what do i do now?
-
- so i dont lose the use of a disk, i'm slapping it about on a PowerMac
- and formatting it back to MS-DOS...but i need this to back up my drive
- cheers for anyones help
